In the spring of 2010, Jiffy Reefing was added for the upcoming voyage from Santa Barbara to San Francisco.
This necessitated reworking the topping lift which used to run from the end of the boom to a block at the top of the mast and back through a block on the end of the boom and finally along the boom to a cleat near the mast. But Jiffy Reefing consumed all available space on the boom.
Oak Pin Rails have installed between the lower shrouds to accommodate the new boom topping lift and 2 flag halyards and the spinnaker topping lift. The topping lift now runs from the beckett of a new block at the top of the mast to the wooden block on the end of the boom and back up thru the sheave of the block at the top. It then runs down along side the mast to a block on deck and then up to a belaying pin (purple-heart) on one of the new pinrails
